Hello, Friends!

Welcome to Legacy Ranch and Rescue!  We are happy that you’ve come to learn about our mission to save

unwanted horses from the slaughter pipeline.

We are so blessed and amazed by the number of caring people who have donated, sent Amazon gifts to the animals, followed us on social media and supported our reels, and prayed for the animals and for us.

I want to share with you some scripture that keeps us going and is the main reason

we feel led to help these amazing creatures.  This first one is my favorite!

”A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” (Proverbs 12:10)

King Solomon recognized that righteous people will not only treat their fellow man kindly,

but will also care for their animals.

Big Mack was tossed away by his Amish owner once he couldn’t work.  He was left standing in a crowded kill pen, scared and terrified, and would have been slaughtered if someone hadn’t rescued him.

Now his life is saving others through all of you.  How amazing is that?

In the gospels, Jesus stressed that God loves even the lowliest of creatures, those that are of little monetary value.    “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?  And not one of them is forgotten by God.” (Luke 12:6)

Scripture also says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6), and those who

seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness will be rewarded with the necessities of life.

When we serve God in our work, we do experience joy and peace. Tim and I truly feel happiness in caring for and meeting the needs of all our animals – even the cattle that were all orphaned as babies!

We hope you will come to share our passion for the beautiful and majestic horses we rescue.  Our goal is to end the practice of shipping horses to slaughter in Mexico. We hope you’ll stand with us!  We can’t do this work without the help of caring and generous people like you.
